Family Life Ministry January 12, 2022
Dear Parishioners of St. Francis of Assisi,
The Family Life Ministry is once again active and going forward to assist our Parish. The pandemic took its toll on every aspect of our lives, and we are ready to go forward and help our Church.
The Christmas Calendar Fundraiser was our first event, which was a huge success, $2400.00 was raised for St. Francis. Thank you, to all that participated.
The next event is the fabulous Corned beef and cabbage dinner on Saturday March 12th, this will be take out only in order to keep everyone safe. Tickets will be sold February 12th through March 6th.
Other events in the planning stage are a May Breakfast, a June Barbeque dinner, a Spring Shredder truck event, another calendar fund raiser. The Feast of St. Francis Dinner in October.
As you can see, we have wonderful events planned for our Parish, and events we haven’t thought of yet. We would love to hear your thoughts and ideas. Please think about joining the Family Life Ministry, we do meet in person once a month, if you would rather not attend in person you can become an email member, if you would rather just volunteer to help with the events that would be great also, any help would be greatly appreciated.
God Bless Us,
The Family Life Ministry
If you are not a 50 week club member, the annual Banquet is April 23rd, at White’s of Westport. There are guest tickets available, includes dinner, live band, and raffle, it is always a fun event, and great way to meet other Parishioners!

A WARM WELCOME TO OUR NEW PASTOR:
We are pleased to introduce Father Thomas Costa to the Mt. Hope Catholic Community.
Father Tom grew up in nearby Seekonk and later gradutated from University of Hartford. After a career in business, he entered priestly formation and completed his Theological studies at Pope John the XXIII Seminary in Weston, MA. He was ordained on July 9, 2005. He served as Pastor of Annunciation of the Lord from 2012 to 2019 and has had assignments as Chaplain of Bishop Feehan High School as well as Our Lady of Lourdes School. Along with experience in Family Ministry, he also brings with him experience ministering as a Hospital Chaplain at Cape Cod Hospital. He arrives from the Taunton Catholic North collaborative, where he served as Co-Pastor of St. Jude The Apostle, St. Anthony's, and St. Mary's since 2019.
He looks forward to meeting parishioners and getting to know the life of our parishes more closely. As he settles into his new role as Pastor, Father Costa would like you to know that he will be praying for all of us. He asks that you in turn pray that the Holy Spirit guides his arrival so that this community continues to grow in the faith, hope and love of Jesus Christ.
Our parish community welcomes Fr. Tom, and we pray that the Holy Spirit will guide him and bless his time here with us.
